[From EVALTALK]

The Fannie Mae Foundation is issuing an RFP for the
evaluation of its New Americans Initiative. This is a
consumer education and outreach program targeting new
immigrants to promote/facilitate homeownership. The
Initiative partners with nonprofit organizations in 16 cities
to disseminate information on homeownership in 9 native
languages.

The Foundation is seeking to assess the effectiveness of this
program in promoting immigrant homeownership and to develop
new outreach/service strategies. An important goal of the
evaluation is to develop a better understanding of how
different immigrant groups proceed along the path to
homeownership and what obstacles they face along the way.

The evaluation resource we are looking for will have
experience with immigrant populations and housing issues. We
anticipate the need to conduct focus groups or interviews in
Spanish, Chinese, and Korean. If you are interested in
receiving the RFP to design and conduct this evaluation,
please send your contact information to:

P.S.
In response to a suggestion by Mr. Scriven, please note that
we do not require the evaluator to be located near our
headquarters in Washington, DC. We expect fieldwork to take
place in cities on both the East and West coasts. There will
be occasional planning meetings in DC, but much of the
project coordination can be done by phone. Thank you for the
interest we've received so far.
