DIRECTOR
CENTER FOR ORGANIZATIONAL RESEARCH AND EVALUATION
PENN STATE ERIE

The newly formed Center for Organizational Research and
Evaluation (CORE) at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, is
searching for a founding director to fill a faculty-level,
twelve-month appointment for an initial three-year period.
Anticipated starting date is February 1999. Prospects for
continued funding are excellent.

During the first year, CORE will provide research support
services to teen pregnancy prevention efforts in Northwest
Pennsylvania. These services will include: evaluation of a
local teen pregnancy prevention network and of several direct
service providers; providing assistance in identifying best
practices; and grant writing. We anticipate that CORE will
expand its services to a broad range of social service
providers and ultimately to other organizational settings.
The CORE director will supervise and conduct evaluations,
develop funding sources, represent CORE at conferences,
publish articles, and also teach one advanced-level course
per semester. Ph.D. or equivalent strongly preferred, but
exceptional candidates with Master's will be considered.
Competitive salary and benefits.

Review of applications will begin on December 1 and continue
until the position is filled. Send curriculum vitae, evidence
of experience in evaluation and grant-writing, evidence of
effective teaching, and representative publications, along
with three letters of recommendation to Dean R. Baldwin,
Ph.D., Acting Director, Box MG, School of Humanities and
Social Sciences, Penn State Erie, Station Rd., Erie, PA
16563-1501. Penn State Erie, located on a 600-acre wooded
track near Lake Erie, is a four-year and graduate institution
that offers the benefits of a small college of 3500 students
while being part of a major research university. Penn State
is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer; women
and minorities are encouraged to apply.
