I got no response when I asked this the first time, so I'll try again. We have an application that needs to be informed if someone inserts or removes the tape cartridge from a QIC tape drive. Does the AIX SCSI driver detect this (it must!), and can the user process be signalled when it happens? If not, is there an ioctl I can issue periodically to see if the status of the drive has changed since my last known operation?
