Peace to All! Below is Sister Emmanuel's Letter of 01/15/97. Our Next mailing will be Our Lady's Monthly Message from Medjugorje on 01/25. P.S. Welcome to all new members of the email list! MIR Steve Shawl http://www.medjugorje.org ---------------------------------------- snip Diary Of Sister Emmanuel Medjugorje - January 15, 1997 Dear Children of Medjugorje, Praised be Jesus! * I have left Medjugorje and the winter for two weeks. On this beautiful summer's day, I am writing to you from the Island of Mauritius where a little Medjugorje team is carrying out a mission before leaving for La Reunion to lead a retreat in a Foyer of Charity. Please help us with your prayers. The locals show a great spritual thirst. It's wonderful! * Since August 2, 1987, on the second day of every month, Our Lady used to visit Mirjana in order to pray with her for unbelievers. This meeting was private, even her family was not present. Mirjana never knew in advance the exact time when the Gospa would come or the duration of the meeting which could last 5 minutes or up to several hours. This year, on January 2nd, Mirjana told us that from now on, this meeting would be open to all. Our Lady even mentioned at what time she would come on February 2nd. This is a big change for which we thank God. We will know later the practical formalities that will be adopted in order to fulfil the Gospa's desire. * Among the news about the "Medjugorje-Village", I would like to share an encouraging testimony with you. Many people dream of coming or returning to Medjugorje. But, the minute this thought comes to their minds, they are confronted with insurmountable obstacles and the project sinks. Among the major obstacles, one seems to be uncircumventable whereas it is the easiest to overcome: I refer to the lack of money. Many testimonies show that money is not a problem when the call is there. As we are in January, you are probably making plans for this year. Do not hesitate to schedule a trip to Medjugorje if you wish to go there; for the practical details, trust Providence! Miss Eileen Call, of the USA, works in an office. She came to me last August in Medjugorje and I asked her to write down for you what she related to me: "When I first heard about Medjugorje, I was seized by a flash of light. I knew in my heart that I had to go there. What I really didn't know was where I would get the money! In March, 1996, I was working on the Internet when it suddenly occurred to me to look and see whether there were any web sites about Medjugorje. There were many! I found Sr. Emmanuel's report where she quoted the message of a pilgrim: 'If you don't have the money, ask the Gospa and she will get it for you!' I felt such a powerful pull toward Medjugorje at that moment that I committed to myself (and to God!) that I would come. Then I prayed, asking to receive the necessary amount. A travel agent told me the trip would cost me $1,500. It was expensive but I felt an indescribable calm and certainty. The same day, my boss called me and said, talking about the IBM project I was working on: 'I think that we could get some award money for you; you should apply for it.' It filled me with joy because I was sure I would get the $1,500 for my trip. 'How much do you think I could get?' I asked her. 'Maybe as much as $5,000!', she said. 'No, I only need $1,500.' 'You should apply for $5,000 anyhow!' After going through all the channels, the file came back to us and the award granted amounted to $1,500! My boss was very disappointed, but I was overjoyed by this friendly sign! I had received exactly what I needed, to the dollar! Today is the last day of the pilgrimage to Medjugorje. My heart has been filled beyond every conceivable hope and I am writing this testimony in order to encourage everyone to dare ask; because you will get what you need! (Medjugorje - August 12, 1996)." Dear Gospa, when you think it's appropriate, you call us, you send us the money and pour the graces... You are the one who opens the doors, we trust in you! Sr. Emmanuel P.S.
