I hope some expert could help us.
We are doing a project related to AIX, CICS/ESA, LU6.2, CPI-C.
On our way to success, we got so many troubles, and we came
over almost everything. Now, we are faced by a big problem beyond
our knowledge.
We are developing programs to communicate between AIX (RS/6000)and
CICS/ESA (IBM ES/9000) using CPI-C on LU6.2. We already wrote test
programs in C to transfer simple strings between AIX and CICS/ESA,
and it worked okay. Unfortunately, the mainframe guy who writes programs
on CICS, is a PL/I expert. On the CICS side, we wrote the same PL/I
program as the C program with that we successfully communicated with AIX.
However the PL/I program did NOT work.
Our configuration is as follows:
on ES/9000 side:
MVS version 4.2
CICS/ESA version 3.3
PL/I version 2.3.0
C version 1.4
CPI-C version 1.0
VTAM version 4.3
on RS/6000 side:
AIX version 3.2.5
SNA Server/6000 version 2.2
MVS and AIX are connected by LU6.2 via ethernet
The problem is:
when program on CICS tries to do "cmaccp()", CICS returns
"ABEND ASRA" error, and the program terminates;
there was no error, when we tried to do the same thing
except the fact that program on CICS is written in C;
We are aware of better programming environment or tools for this kind
of purpose, but we have no choice for this project.
Any help through reply to this posting or e-mail to the address below
would be okay. If you have CPIC program source written in PL/I on CICS
or JCL that compile such program, please send it to me.
Thanks, in advance.
