Hi!
        I'm very new to networking, so I have many questions that need to be
answered. I' like to say thank you before hand for any help that you can give
me...

1. I know that my address is on  BITNET but in what way is BITNET different from
      the othet networks eg, INTERNET ?
2. Will I or my friends have problems sending mail to each other from one networ
      -k to another?
3. If I send my e-mail address to a friend by post will his/her machine have
   problems recognizing my address? Will he/she have to use special commands?
   If so, what?
4. I noticed in my e-mail from my friends that my address was warped/changed
   by their machine ie, there were additions at the back of my normal address.
   Why is this so? Does every machine do this to all addresses or only BITNET
   addresses? If I don't know the addition that my friends machine will
   recognize,will I be able to send them my e-mail address by post and still
   get e-mail from them?
5. What are the other things that I can do with my account other than sending
   and receiving e-mail?

All help will be greatly appreciated. Thanking everyone in advance for all help
