I am a neophyte Authorware developer and what I am trying to do should be
very easy, but I can't seem to make it work in Authorware 5.1.

I want to pose a series of questions.  The answer to the first question will
determine the branch of the second question and so on.  Basically - pick one
of the following 3. If choice 1 then choose among these 2 options, if choice
2 then choose among these 2 (other) options. else choose among these 2
(other) options.

Can anyone suggest a strategy or offer a template to build this kind of
interactive path?
