The easiest way to do this is save the image as pict file. Save the image
as a 8 bit indexed image with the system palette option checked. This way
the colours in the image will appear the same in photoshop and in
authorware on the Mac. If you do this all the images that you import into
authorware will have the same palette and you will not get pallete
mismatches :-). If you don't do this you will need an xcmd that will
display the pictures in their correct colours i.e. the hard way :-(.

It might be easier to save a few images from photoshop and import them to
authorware later otherwise you will be swapping between applications a lot.

You can assign the image a mode in the attributes menu, try them out.

Typically images saved as 8bit pict will fit on a 3.5" HD floppy. A more
elequent method would be to use a removable hard-drive.

Your solution to translating cgm files to .tif seems to fair enough. I'm
not sure about cgm files but any graphics format that uses vectors to
produce the image ie. illustrator, freehand, corel draw, to get the best
results will need to be converted to a bitmap format within the package
that the file was origianlly produced. Usually an export option is
available. I use Debabelizer on the Mac and PhotoShop Pro on Windows to
translate many file formats. If you don't have these try to get them their
very usefull.
