Greetings, all. I'm a library cataloger (we use Polaris) in a medium size town and our catalog is fairly large. A couple days ago, I posted a question regarding MARC field 010, and as of yet, I've not seen any replies. In fact, I've not seen replies to most posts in this group. So, is this the right group for my questions? (Please be gentle, I haven't used groups or chats until now) Thanks in advance for any replies. Note its name: "bit.listserv.autocat". I think this means that there is a *mailing list* called autocat, the articles in which are echoed to this USENET group. The people on the list only read the list, _not_ the newsgroup, which additionally has items posted directly to it - which include some junk and spam. So, as a librarian, you should be able to join the mailing list, of which this group is the echo. John Savard
