I didn't have the good fortune to go to Merlefest, but Did hear some great
music Sunday at Rockingham County Community College in Wentworth, NC.
(Between Greensboro and Danville, VA) Sunday afternoon there was a set by
flatpicker Doug Rorrer and Wayne Henderson...(who doesn't really flatpick,
but sounds like he does). Johnny and Jeannette Williams helped out with the
vocals. This was followed by a good set from the Konnarock Kritters
Old-time band. This was pretty good stuff for free admission. here was
bluegrass, jazz, gospel, and old-time all weekend.

I recommend Doug's Cd TRADITIONS. It's a featured CD in Bluegrass Unlimited
this month. Contact Doug at <mediaman@vnet.net>.

Usual disclaimers.

P.S. I didn't hear Steve Earle..at Merlefest or anywhere else!
