For those who would like to hear some excellent acoustic music from this side of the world, I have updated the selections on our Bluegrass in Australia web site. This month I have picked a splendid bluegrass song from Karen Lynne, nominated for Best New Talent at this January's Tamworth Country Festival (The largest country music festival in the world outside the USA) and featuring some of the best pickers in Australia. Karen's I Don't Know Why is a straight-up-and-down bluegrass song that's been getting a lot of airplay in Australia, both in the bluegrass world and on country programmes. The other track is a Newgrass track from Gerry Hale's Uncle Bill. They have released a new album "One Day at Adelphia", which was recorded in a single day - it's a live studio album and in my opinion, while not strictly bluegrass, is a killer album and a must-have. This track, "Get Rhythm" is my favourite off the album at the moment, although there are plenty of potential favourites there. The selections are on the site in realaudio OR mp3. (MP3 is higher quality but much larger files, so you can take your choice. I hope you like these samples of what Aussie performers are putting out these days. (More assistance given to independent performers free and with no strings attached, because I like the music so much, and want to grow the audience with or without the help of the record labels!) p.s. Thanks to the independent bands and labels in the USA who have trusted me with their material - particularly in recent weeks, W.C. Taylor, Broadriver, Grass Cats, Buzz Matheson & Mac martin, Mixt Company, Dan Knowles & the Hot Band, Banjerdan, All of these people have EXCELLENT albums and deserve your support as well as Karen Lynne and Gerry Hale's Uncle Bill from Australia..
