I am a new subscriber to this service and am not real sure of what I am
doing.  If I'm doing something wrong..... sorry, otherwise, let me
introduce myself.  My name is Brinton Allison.  I am employed by
Hughes Aircraft Company in the corporate mainframe computing division
recently renamed HECS (Hughes Enterprise Computing Services).  Our mission
is to provide enterprise computing services (excluding application
programming) to all parts of Hughes.  My primary role is to manage the
chargeback billing of those services.  I have a small staff of 6 programmers
and am located in Fullerton California.

My primary interest in this type of a forum is to gain insight into other
organizations with common interests.  Hughes (as is the entire mainframe
computing community) is currently undergoing a significant downsizing
effort.  We are being asked to do more with less.  Included in this
years objectives are: benchmarking; HP billing; resource based billing for
email services; customer workload forecasting; government compliance on
rate setting practices (especially break-even rates at the resource
level rather than at a pool level); I/O billing under DB2; and other
less (or more) exciting activities.

Is there anyone else out there with one or more of these same issues that
would be willing to open an electronic dialog (or perhaps some other
form of communication)?  Please reply.  Thanks.
