I don't know why we've not attempted I/O billing, but suspect it
is something like noted below. I would go so far as to say not
billing I/O has been a general decision based on early analyses.
Doubt it was even considered for DB2.
PAComp, any comments?

Would you say the situation here is the same? We use CPU because
of the problem with I/O he states?

Subject: DB2 I/O Billing
From: Brinton Allison
I recently attended a seminar on mature chargeback billing systems where
I hoped to get a better understanding of how to bill DB2 I/O. Unfortunately
I came away empty handed. Of the 15 or so companies represented, it seems
no one is billing discrete DB2 I/O. All attendee's companies have
included this resource in their CPU rates because of unrepeatability
issues associated with DB2 I/O capture.
Has anyone out there resolved this issue? Would you be willing to share
your solution? Thanks for the help!
