Keep smiling. From: Gail D. Van Court Subject: MICS At Arizona State University, we measure a lot of different systems. We use a lot of user components within MICS. We are beginning to phase out the measurement stuff because the system administrators for the individual systems pull their own reports from the raw data. It has become quite a political issue over the ownership of the data and who controls how it is collected. It seems that MICS is used to archive the summarized data for historical purposes. There seems to be a lot of control with the accounting functions in the user components. There is also a lot of work with the mulitplicity of libraries. We are looking forward to running MICS on a UNIX platform. ...someday... Is there anybody out there who collects data from LANS? Some types of connections are more difficult to trap so the accounting function can pick them up.
