RE: REAL CPUs
Joel,
I think we all need to hope that the PowerPC goes over well. I am pulling
for it, and probably will get one. After all, being able to have Mac and PC
software, Unix and OS-9000, and who knows what else - and NEVER having to
run on an Intel processor is just about heaven <g>.
Plus, I could have something "above" the PC snobs I encounter so often.
"Oh, you just have a 486? Sorry. I have a PPC..."
I was suprised to find that GEnie already had a PowerPC RoundTable and a
PowerPC Programmer's RoundTable.
Also, I hear of a PPC upgrade to certain Macs - it plugs in like an
accelerator card. Wild. It's happening all around me, and no one in East
Texas has even heard of a PowerPC yet! Argh...
Oh, gang, the new Atari Jaguar "64-bit" game system his stores this week.
Have you played Atari today?
