Hello All

I am a freelance proofreader, copy-editor and indexer. I am a member of the
Society of Freelance Editors and Proofreaders (SFEP), and also a member of
the Society of Indexers (SI).

One of my regular clients in Cambridge is tendering for a large and on-going
contract to publish and produce a series of individual monographs (each
averaging around 180 A4 pages) communicating research findings to medical
professionals. They have asked me to compile a proposal for the editorial
aspects of the tender and, if they are successful in winning the contract,
to project-manage the editorial part of the publishing.

I looking for a couple of copy-editors who specialise in medical material
and who would be willing to undertake such work in my client's
central-Cambridge offices. There may well be so much material to get through
in the first year that it may turn out to be almost a full-time task.

Extensive copy-editing experience is probably not essential, as I envisage
three of us working together on the editorial side with the production
people around us, but anyone who is interested should certainly have at
least attended the SFEP "Introduction to Copy-editing" seminar or have an
appropriate in-house background.

Before you respond, please bear the following in mind:
1) The tender hasn't even been compiled yet, so it may all amount to nothing
2) The bulk of the work would have to be undertaken at my client's Cambridge
offices (at least, that's the current plan)
3) There would be so much to get through that it would be virtually
full-time
4) My client would want to interview you before taking you on
