MISA PRESS FREEDOM AWARD

Nominations are invited for the annual MISA Press Freedom Award. Each
year, a southern African journalist, who is considered to have made a
significant contribution to media freedom in the region, receives this
prestigious award.

MISA is calling for nominations for this year's award, which will be
presented at a gala dinner held during the MISA Annual General Meeting,
which is to take place in Swaziland from November 21-23.

Last year's award went posthumously to ardent media freedom campaigner,
MISA founding member, and editor of Zimbabwe's Moto magazine, Makani
Kabweza, who died in a road accident in April 1993.

Nominations for this year's award can be made by individuals or
organisations anywhere in the world, and should be sent to the following,
together with a detailed letter of motivation and the nominee's c.v.:
