We bought Endnotes 1.0/PC for a interdisciplinary projekt. People
is working with Word and with LaTeX.

Our goal is to export a BibTeX-Like file which will converted
by a UNIX Shell-Script to real BibTeX-Format and to work with
the included capabilities for Word. 

A first trial with the Endnote Demonstratioin Package (sic!) was successfull
and we are VERY DISAPPOINTED by the problems we have with 
Endnote 1.0/PC.

                          PROBLEM

1) We completely redifined the referece types to match the BibTeX  
   reference types (no problem). 
   It is not possible to define an Export-Style. After having
   included more then two Reference Types in the export style the
   error message 
                error : -108 
   appears when saving.
   The error seem to be very severe because Endnotes goes sometimes
   done with an error message indicating that a handle has been
   overwritten (dangerous C programming style ?). Furthermore,
   the internal window manager seems to be confused completely. 

2) Endnotes 1.0 / PC has problems with installed TSR-Programms.
   For example, Endnotes does not run when a telnet connection
   to a Sun is open in the background.

 
    

                          QUESTIONS

1)  What does error: -108 mean ?
2)  Is there a list of error messages in clear text ? (no list is included
     in the manual)
3)  Are there any restrictions for the size of export styles ? 
3)  What are the reasons for this error and how can we fix the problem ?
4)  When does a new release of Endnote appear ? 
5)  What is known about problems with TSR programs ?
6)  Is there anybody using Endnotes with LaTeX/BibTeX ?
