It's taken a long time, but a Usenet/BITNET link has been established
between this BITNET list, ENDNOTE@UCSBVM.BITNET, and the Usenet
newsgroup, bit.listserv.endnote.  Summarizing my efforts to get
this link established, miscommunication between the listserv manager
on our campus and me, between him and the BITNET administrator who
creates the links, and between the BITNET administrator and me, I
guess that we should be thrilled to get a link established.  In the
following posting from bit.admin announcing the Usenet newsgroup,
you'll notice that Jim McIntosh got confused that Bibsoft is supposed
to be part of our name.  He confused my request for a comp.bibsoft.endnote
link with the name of the discussion group.  I'll give him another call
to clarify what I meant.

Briefly, comp.bibsoft.endnote won't be available as a link unless much
more rigorous call for discussion and a call for vote are done.  This
was what I had been trying to establish, but the campus listserv
administrator was confused, I was confused, and in an effort to get
a link established ASAP, I called Jim McIntosh and asked him to set
up a bit.listserv.endnote link, which he promptly did. Let's try out

this new link for the time being, then I'll go for the comp.bibsoft.endnote
newsgroup later.
