Importing into EN (Mac)
#122

Hello,

Whenever I want to import references (from Current Contents on Disk) into
my EndNote (2.0.1) library I have to set it to import duplicates into a
separate library. Does anyone out here know a way to tell EndNote that
this is my default setting? This should be possible, surely, as it
remembers the format I set it at laast time.

Thanks, Geert Jan

Geert,

I'm sorry but there is no way to mark default settings. EndNote Plus
simply remembers whatever settings you used last time.

Hello Mark,

Thank you for your reply. My problem is that EndNote does not remember all
its settings. The format is as used the last time, but the option for
importing duplicates always reverts to 'import all' (whereas I would
prefer to import them into a duplicates library). This is the case even if
I do two subsequent imports with no other activities inbetween. Apparently
the setting for what to do with the duplicates isn't stored in the EN
preferences, as deleting the old one (and thus forcing the program to
create a new file) didn't solve my problem. Thanks again for your reply
and input on this,

Geert Jan

Geert,

I'll bring this up with our programmers and see if it can be changed in a
future version. It seems like it would be best to have both of these
pop-up menus behave in the same way.

Mark,

Thanks again, I'll hope the programmers will listen. While you're talking
to them, could I have my keyboard command back to switch to symbol font?
In version 1.3 that was done easily using cmd-Y, now I have to go via a
hierachical menu, which just isn't that handy.

Hope I'm not asking too much, Geert Jan
