Division 34 announces its annual paper competition for graduate students doing original research in Population and Environmental Psychology. Reviewers will judge the papers and announce winners. The winner, runner-up, and other excellent papers will be given a special place at the Division 34 poster session at the APA convention in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, in August 1993, Eligibility: Graduate students currently doing research in areas related to Population or Environmental Psychology are eligible. Only student authors are eligible; those receiving Ph.D.s prior to December 1991 are not eligible. Papers based on thesis or dissertation studies, or on other research, are acceptable. It is expected that those entering this competition will make an effort to attend the APA convention if they are chosen as winner or runner-up. Procedure: Papers should be 10-20 pages in length, including references, figures, and tables. Empirical, theoretical, and methodological papers related to Population and/or Environmental Psychology are appropriate. The first author should be the major contributor to the research reported. The winning and runner-up papers will automatically be included in the Division 34 poster session at the next APA convention; other papers will be considered for the poster session if requested by the author. Prize: The author of the winning paper will receive a cash award of $100. Submission: Entries must be received by January 16, 1993. Four copies should be submitted in the format described in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (3rd edition).
