There are many groups referring to themselves as Rosicrucians. Simply
put they are esoteric groups who (like Masonry) are religious in
nature BUT NOT A RELIGION. They study the natural sciences like
alchemy and are deeply philosophical at times. I am not a Rosicrucian
but like you have met a few from time to time. I've yet to meet one I
did not like.

To answer you questions regarding Masonry and religion. I MYSELF AM A
BAPTIST. Many well known Masons have been Baptists as well (some were
ordained ministers). Admittedly there is a POLITICAL feud going on in
the Southern Baptist Conference concerning Masonry. I can assure you,
anyone getting close enough to the feud will agree that it is more
POLITICAL than spiritual, although the anti-Masonic faction would
rather have you believe otherwise (G) despite the fact that most of
the founders of that denomination WERE MASONS. You Catholic question
is a bit tougher to explain briefly.

I will instead, attach a text file to this reply. In case you are
unable to retrieve it, I will also post the file in the newsgroup.
