Well in all fairness Joe, I can't take ANY CREDIT for the FIDO echo. That was concieved and executed without me (G). In fact it's a different group of fine visionary techno-Masons that put the FIDO echo together and currently run it. I am the network coordinator for FMnet! which makes up the Internet Listserv and Usenet newsgroup as well as the stand alone BBS network called FMnet! All of these are gated and cross-posted together with our brothers on the FIDO echo. The combination of the two systems simply made sense. They could offer us the intense exposure to the world of BBS that only FIDO can provide as it does (It's the most widely used BBS network in existence). And we could take their echo and transmit itfor them over the Internet. In this way (together) we could accomplish what neither could do alone. Basically, we have established a system that any Mason with a modem can access (practically any Mason with a modem). It seems to be a very happy marriage of the two systems. Both sides are contributing a fairly substantial amount of volume. Combined, it can get pretty busy around here from time to time. Fraternally, Ron Boutwell
