Thanks to rwwt for the clarification on "soggies".  After reading the
explanation I reread the first document and it seemed "clear" indeed.
I feel so small I could sit on a dime and swing my legs.
     I also agree with your position on exact answers, mostly.  I like to
do proglems like soggies with matrices but I still yearn for that nice, clean,
explicit function that will tell me the answer.  Somewhere I hope we find
a balance.  Kids too often feel like the approximations are not "real" answers
and using calculators or computers is "cheating".  On the other hand I have
concerns aout students being taught to use calculators to do problems for which
they have no conceptual understanding.  I see this happening alot with curve
fitting on the TI-** and it does worry me.
