currency lost after call program?

I use one main program Cobol-calling 3 other subprograms. 
2 db's are bound.
Each program has a section in which the bind, ready area etc are
executed and a section in which the finish is executed. These sections
are conditional and the execution is triggered by a parameter.

When my main program loops through these 3 subprograms,approaching
both db's, the statement
>> FIND CURRENT record-name << 
results in a 322 error.

How come? The subprograms haven't finished so in my theory the
currency of the record-occurrence should be readable from the
currency-table.

Can anyone give me a clue?
