The latest issue of THE ECONOMIST describes a recent report commissioned by
the head of the international finance bureau of Japan's Finance Ministry
(Sakakibara) which compares Japan, US, UK, Germany, and France.

Can anyone provide more information regarding this report?  Is there an
English version?
