Hello everyone,
I have some questions about WIN NT Advanced Server. If anyone can help,
it would be greatly appreciated.
Our server is a DEC AlphaServer 1000, running Windows NT Advanced Server
version 3.50. The processor is a DEC Alpha 233 MHz. We have 3500+ student
accounts, and about 250 faculty/staff accounts.
My questions are:
1. Does anyone know of a batch file or program that sets the permissions
to shares in a batch file or automated fashion? Right now, we generate
the account, then set the permissions by hand. We would like to have a
command line or automated system, if available. Please send me the
details about this if possible.
2. Does WIN NT V3.5 have a share limit or maximum number of shares? Does
a later version, 3.51 or 4.0 fix this if version 3.5 has a limit?
3. How do you handle Quota Management for accounts? What programs do you
use, and what problems have you found with them?
4. Does anyone have experience with NTP Quota Manager, and what problems
have you found with it? Any gotchas with it?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
You may reply to the listserv or to me personally, my address is below.
Thanks again in advance.
