Subj: Netscape in a lab
----------------------------Original message----------------------------
Hi all,
We are about to install Netscape ver 3.0 on PC's running Windows
3.11. Has anyone figured out a solution to the problem of students
entering in bogus email addresses under Options/Mail and News
Preferences/Identity? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there!
I think that the problem with bogus e-mail id's can be prevented in
the fact that Netscape can be pressed into it's preferences to rely on an
e-mail server in order to confirm the e-mail address, this will reduce the risk
of an unauthorize e-mail ID , as long as it needs to be authorized by a legal
e-mail server... also you may want to think about the possiblilty of disabling
this part of the application, but that will required some coding.
good luck..
