----------------------------Original message---------------------------- We are using the Trumpet WINSOCK IP stack in Windows 3.1 in our public labs, and have recently tried configuring it to launch from the Startup Folder. Last year we launched it dynamically, but last year TCPMAN never could seem to get enough network buffers to operate optimally. We have tried loading from the Win.ini "load" and "run" statements with unsatisfactory results, and are also experiencing difficulties loading it from the Windows Startup folder. Typically we have difficulties with Word Perfect or other applications. Word Perfect may launch but then hasn't enough resources to print or spell check. We've tried memmaker without success. It appears that Novell network drivers, CDROM drivers, sound drivers, et al doesn't leave enough resources for windows applications. Perhaps WIN95 will solve this but I need to get through this year in Win 3.x Dan -- Dan Mandell, Computer Services, Saint Mary's College Internet: dmandell@saintmarys.edu
