Thanks to the dozen lab managers who responded to my request for salary
information posted 1/19/96. My planning on this wasn't the best as I've
been swamped with opening my lab for the semester, so I will figure out a
way to compile and report the responses to the list next week. Rest assured
that those of you who asked for anonomytiy will remain so.

If you wish to send me additional information or reply to the original
post, please do so. Here are the items I was asking for information about
[with my own information as a reference]:

Salary: [$26,000]
Computers supervised:
        [20 (soon to be 26) Wintels and Mac in lab]
        [3 (soon to be 12) in professors offices]
Student assistant supervision: [25 hours/week]
Student intern (volunteer) supervision: [20 hours/week]
Duties and responsibilities:
        [Classroom training: 10%
        Individual training, including student assistants: 35%
        Paperwork (purchasing, timesheets): 10%
        Setup and maintenance of computers and software: 25%
        Development of training materials: 5%
        Research and selection of new equipment and software: 10%
        Misc.: 5%]
Desired salary: [$35,000]
