Hello,

Back in the spring we had a discussion regarding the payback agreement. The
prevailing opinion was that NIH had shelved payback because it was too hard
to define / enforce / etc. Well I just received a form from NIH asking
about my activities over the 7/94 to 6/95 period, and whether they fulfilled
the payback agreement. I got the form because I came "off grant" and onto my
advisor's funding at the end of the last academic year. From all this I
concluded that payback still applies to me.

I started in the MSTP in 1990, so I may have the required payback while
newer MSTP fellowship recipients may not.
