----------- Original message below forwarded by NETTRAIN moderator ------------ Date: Mon, 08 Feb 93 10:51:39 ECT From: Martin Raish <MRAISH%BINGVMB.BITNET@UBVM.cc.buffalo.edu> When I do a workshop I try to have the first portion -- when I talk and do the demonstration -- in a room without any terminals. Then we take a break and regroup in the computer lab for the hands-on portion. This always is the better approach. On those occasions when I am forced to do the whole thing in the lab I just turn every monitor off. Of course, the students just turn them on again... I have heard of a system that allows the teacher to lock every monitor to display what is in the teacher's screen (and then unlock them so each student can do his/her thing). But I can't remember the name of the program. I'll have to rummage through a largish pile of papers here in my office. Don't hold your breath. But bug me if you really want to know. -- Martin Martin Raish "Computers are useless. Main Library, Box 6012 They only give you answers."
