In my report on the LITA progam on "Teaching the Internet"

   I forgot to delete the comment about the checklist being appended;
it applied to the print version of my report on the LITA meeting.
Anyway, here is Connie Chandler's list.

CHECKLIST FOR INTERNET TRAINERS GOING TO OTHER SITES

Ask the host:
1. What is the operating system of the Internet Node?
Do I know how to use it? (UNIX, VMS,VM,DOS, other)
2. What is the telnet or tn3270 address? Do they know the difference?
3. Can I get a username and password to try it before I get there?
[Don't forget you will need usernames and passwords for each
          student in the class]

Figure out on your own or ask the host:
1. What is the system prompt? How do I get there? Do they have
        a menu? Is it optional?
2. Do telnet, tn3270 and ftp work? What modifications do I need to
make to my usual instructions to compensate for local differences?
3. Can I telnet to my home site to demo? What doesn't work
the way I'm used when I get there?
4. What download protocols are there on the Internet node if we have
to download to the PC? On the PC? Is the PC running TCP/IP?
5. Can they load HYTELNET on the machines for hands-on? Do they have
HYTELNET or LIBS on their Internet node instead?
6. What telecomm software are they using? Do they have dumb terminals?
Telnet Clarkson or Procomm or Kermit or what? Do I know how to
use it do: Download? Scroll back? Break key? Dial?
7. Do they have Usenet News? What news reader are they using? Do I
know how to demo it? Could someone on their staff do it if I don't?
8. Are the machines in the training room on a network?
9. If yes, does it interfere with or change HYTELNET or FTP?
10. Do they have any client software? Archie? WHOIS? Gopher?
        SWAIS? or another?
