I've compiled a list of information sources on the Internet and
computer-mediated communication (CMC). An update of this list
is now available via anonymous ftp from:

        host: ftp.rpi.edu
        file: pub/communications/internet-cmc

For this release (1.9), I did a complete check to verify availability
of all resources (as of 11 Jan 93) and reorganized the list.

The purpose of this file is to list pointers to information describing
the Internet, computer networks, and issues related to computer-mediated
communication (CMC). Topics of interest include the technical,
social, cognitive, and psychological aspects of CMC.

I would appreciate suggestions for improving this file or
expanding the list of information sources contained in it.

This file might help those getting started in understanding the
Internet and CMC; it compactly summarizes sources of information for
those who are already exploring these issues.

Contents:
Section -1- THE INTERNET AND SERVICES
        Section -2- INFORMATION SERVICES/ELECTRONIC PUBLICATIONS
        Section -3- SOCIETIES AND ORGANIZATIONS
        Section -4- NEWSGROUPS
        Section -5- SELECTED BIBLIOGRAPHY

I'm working on this information as part of an independent study project;
I'll update the file periodically.
