Folks,

A new upgrade to the LISTSERV software gives listowners the option to
permit list subscribers to receive list postings as a daily, weekly,
or monthly digest, rather than as individual messages.  I would
like to enable this option, but I first want to survey interested
NETTRAINers about which digest schedule they prefer.

Please note: this does NOT mean that NETTRAIN as a whole will be
switching to a digest format.  Rather, this upgrade would allow
an individual subscriber to decide whether they want to receive
NETTRAIN postings once a day, once a week, or once a month, rather
than one by one as each message is posted.  The digest function
operates by way of the SET command, just as a subscriber may use
the SET NETTRAIN REPRO or NOREPRO command to determine whether or
not the receive copies of their own postings.

In other words, my enabling the digest feature will affect only
those NETTRAIN subscribers who choose to receive their NETTRAIN
postings in digest format.  If you do nothing, you will continue
to receive individual postings as you do now.  Only those subscribers
who choose to change their own subscription options by issuing a
SET command to LISTSERV@UBVM.BITNET will see a change in NETTRAIN
format.

If you are interested in receiving NETTRAIN in digest format, please
e-mail me directly at millesjg@sluvca.slu.edu and indicate
whether you prefer Daily, Weekly, or Monthly digests.  I will report
back to the list with the results.
