Two candidates for positions here have received degrees from U.S. distance learning institutions. These institutions are not listed in Peterson's Guide to Distance Learning, which lists "accredited college and university programs available through television, computer, videocassette and audiocassette." Peterson's refers to the U.S. regional accrediting associations and approval by state educational agencies. Are there any other accreditating bodies that deal with distance learning institutions? Or if an institution is not listed in Peterson's, how can we assess it? Thanks for any help you can provide. Nancy Nancy H. Dewald, Reference Librarian Penn State Berks Tulpehocken Road, P.O.
