Dear Tracy, I'm running several versions of Netscape and IE on my G3 both under Mac OS 8 and Windows 95 (under Virtual PC) and also on a Micron Pentium 100 and a Compaq Pentium 120 laptop and I almost never have a crash or lockup under either program on any platform. WHen I do the lockup has been IE and its always because IE doesn't know what to do with a bit-o-Javascript programming. I teach through a Java Web Interface online live and have been meeting with classes and doing other business in Diversity University using that Java Web Interface http://www.du.org:8888 (click on "Integrated Interface" button) and have had no crashes or freeze ups ever...yesterday I was online through Netscape 4.5 under Mac OS 8 using the Java Interface from noon to 3 p.m. with no crashes. In November I taught 2 - 4 hour long classes from my Compaq laptop through Netscape 4.5 with the Java Web interface and had no crashes...I did however have my ISP hang up on my after 2 hours for which I seriously b****d them out and they have corrected the problem. I have had a problem with MS Word crashing when I open it with Netscape running at the same time...but this only happens about once every 2-3 hours and I think its related to conflicts in memory uses by both programs.
