Hay
If I understand the issue under discussion, it is to do with prioritizing access
to resources. Wendy has touched the live wire and I hope the fuse masters will
prop up with all possible instances when you need the Internet and when you can
manage without the Internet.
For me I think libraries are still not so and so: outdated, expensive,
inaccessible, hard stuff, etc., and instead of waiting for the actual required
information, grazing and surfing all possible 0000s of screens and wading
through
the deserts, one can go straight to the available alternate sources, for queries
such as:
name of a university which offers a course on computers
address of a university,
map of a city road
publications of some known or famous people
address of a journal,
etc., etc.,
I would like to see the responses from others too, on this issue that is
bothering
all nettrainers.
Visit my Webpage and see what I have to say about the future of librarianship,
in
the wake of the emerging medium and its temptations.
Can U email me the list of sources that you have on evaluating the Web
resources?
Cordially, Dr. Taher
