We seek individuals who are excited about working with cutting-edge technology and committed to teaching and working with librarians in low-income communities. Duties of Trainers include: installing labs and standalone machines running Windows NT in public libraries, teaching instructional sessions on software, networking, and troubleshooting to grant recipients, providing technical field support for libraries, and assisting the staff of the Gates Learning Foundation and the Gates Center for Technology Access in local and statewide meetings and workshops for public librarians. Trainers should have some background in teaching or user education. MLIS is preferred. Our main focus is training librarians to better use their technology, beginning with how to use a mouse and continuing through making major adjustments to a Windows NT network.
