Nonsense. There's a whole long list of supported printers, including
many inkjets. My HP DJ540 prints absolutely wonderfully, and I favor
Deskjets because the ink HP uses in its cartridges is much better and
more permanent than the watery stuff Epson and Canon use. I don't know
about other brands.

If you use Lingua, you must check carefully to be sure the printer you
choose has enough memory and is fully HP PCL3 compatible, because the
calls for downloading the special characters must be accepted by the
printer. Otherwise, just look over the list of supported printers at the
NB website. If a new model isn't yet listed, the driver for an earlier
model of the same printer should do.

Come NBWin, we'll have the use of Windows drivers and won't depend on
Nota Bene staff writing a driver for every new printer. Powerful
motivation for them to get that program out the door.

I just got a Lexmark 1000, as inexpensive an ink-jet printer as you can
get.  It has to print through Windows with NB in a window, and it
emulates (as I recall) a particular HP inkjet printer.  It works
beautifully, although it's limited, of course, by the fonts and pitches
available for that particular printer.
