I have some prices from 1992.

Opscan 7 with dual read heads and transport printer:  15,000
              dual ink  heads  "     "       "     :  16,550
              single read head                     :  12,500
              single ink head                      :  13,650

These prices reflect what I believe is a %5 educational discount.  However they
have probably risen in price by about that much via inflation.

You're right - VERY expensive.

We settled on an Opscan 5  which has been doing very nicely for us at about
half the price.
