At the University of Alberta, we have a copy of U of Michigan's IDQ system which allows generation of course evaluation questionnaires from a menu of questions. The system also accumulates reference data to be included in the reports that are generated for each course. The IDQ system has some significant dependencies on the MTS operating system which we are going to lose in 1994--meaning that we're going to have to come up with a new system. I'm thinking of putting the whole thing up on Oracle such that the departmental offices can input the questionnaire requisitions and, subsequent to scanning, request reports on their local printers. Is anyone involved with/ aware of using this approach to course evaluations? I am interested in learning of others experiences with such an application. I remember someone asking about using SAS to manage the data/generate the reports. I'm not aware of replies to that request but am guessing that SAS would not be an appropriate tool for this application.

We mark thousands of examinations appraisals every year. Please put your query into a more specific form for a reply. Thanks, Bill W. J.
