Does anyone out there know of any instances where computer users have developed skin disorders or allergic reactions due to using p.c.'s? Any information would be gratefully received. Thanks in anticipation. Martin

Martin: Yes, computer users have been documented with skin disorders using VDTs since their introduction in the 1970s. Skin rashes on the face and upper extremeties are caused by the buildup of electrostatic fields in front of the computer screen. Norway, for example, requires that terminals be properly grounded to prevent electrostatic buildup. Also, don't sit too close to the VDT for long periods of time, the range of electromagnetic fields is approximately 30-36 inches from the terminal.
