This does indeed sound interesting. But when Barb says during eliminated outside help she was right, but is that exactly what we want? I encouage my students to discuss projects like this with people in the field and to even solicit their "help". Isn't that how we learn and how the world works? I will surly ask someone familiar with my fuel injection system how to solve a problem before I dive in and do it all by myself. I probably don't have the tools and for sure could use some hints on how to fix it. I want to save the money by fixing it myself, but I don't want to make a real mess of it because I went totally solo. So don't we need to define outside help here? I would suggest that the students be able to build a prototype and bring it with, if you are going to require it to be done at the competition. IMHO Doug Benning benning@tenet.edu Rockwall H.S.
