my high school will be changing to a new schedule next year which has in it a
class-free day (every other wednesday)

if you teach (or have taught) at a school with such a schedule, i'd appreciate
receiving advice about how to use that day effectively, how much structure to
provide the students, pitfalls to avoid, etc.
