Kathy,

Several schools here in Oregon have gone to the one course per semester.
I will search around and see if I can connect you with someone.  It is
done for economic reasons out here - not educational.  It is a way to get
teachers to teach six classes per year instead of five.

Just a point.  Think about teaching a freshman in the fall vs. the spring.
 They sure change and the reason is that during the six month interval
they experience a rather significant % of their total life.  I sure hope
our school never makes the change.  I think some (if not all) disciplines
take some 'mulling over' in the brain to have it connect and sink in.
