TechNet is a science and technology educational network started at the
University of Arizona. Our goal is to permit educators of all kinds to
communicate with each other via electronic mail, and message areas covering
topics in all areas of science and technology. To reach as many
users as possible, TechNet has an 800 number. This allows teachers
operating on an already minuscule budget to dial up the system free of
charge.
ELECTRONIC MESSAGE FORUMS
Currently the TechNet Science and Technology Education Network has the
following message conferences:
TECHNET_USER TechNet User to User: The user to user
conference open for general discussion.
CHEM_ED Chemistry Education: Topics
concerning teaching metods and
chemistry.
PHYS_ED Physics Education: Topics about
Physics and educational techniques.
COMP_ED Computers in Education: All realms of
educational software, laser disks,
and multi-media presentations; also
computer hardware discussions.
ICE_93 ICE Arizona 1993 Workshop: Information
concerning the Institute for Chemical
Education (ICE) workshop in Tucson.
GRANT_SC Information about getting/giving grant
money. If you want to know how to write
a proposal, or if you have written one
that has been funded... here is where you
can share this information with others.
BIO_ED Biology Education area. Rounding out the
areas of scientific studies.
If you are a SysOp of a BBS, and would like more information on how you can
become involved with TechNet, you can net mail to TechNet at our Fido address,
1:300/207.
Our 800 line is open 24 hours per day and supports up to 14.4 kbaud v32bis.
The first time you log on you will be given instructions on the details of the
board and network. If you would like to join in on the discussion of science
and technology with us, please give us a call.
