Two aspects of the egg drop contest worry me, although it is the kind of free-wheeling, messy activity that kids would probably like: 1. As mentioned by several other folks, it is not a CLEAN demonstration of any law (or laws) and cannot be explicated adequately by the physics that the students have mastered. 2. SALMONELLA! I know it's fun to break eggs, but there is a risk of food poisoning from salmonella in raw eggs.
