I know that many of you are too busy (or have no laboratories) to perform
experiments. But the dilemma of capacitors in series can not be resolved
without more real data. It is not healthy when all the "evidence" comes
from one source (REMEMBER COLD FUSION).

WHAT SHOULD BE DONE NEXT? HOW SHOULD WE DEAL WITH THE SUBJECT WHICH IS
NOT PROPERLY DESCRIBED IN OUR TEXTBOOKS? (A student taking an examination
may be penalized by writing a correct statement that "the problem can not
be solved on the basis of information given".)
I really think that those of you who have time and equipment MUST
help to settle the debate IN THE LABORATORY. Aristotelian arguments
are not sufficient. Fuzzy logic does not apply here; it is either "the
theory of equal charges" or "the theory of constant current". One of
these (or both) must be wrong about the EQUILIBRATED voltages on
capacitors in series. Physical reality does not have to agree with
our ideas; but in physics our ideas must agree with reality. Aren't
we professionally responsible for how knowledge is transferred from
one generation to another? It is OUR physics.
I FEEL LIKE THE LITTLE CHILD WHO SAID "THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES".
Is he really naked or is something wrong with my eyes?
