Nancy,
No apology necessary. These things help stimulate discussion, and gradual
clarification. I, for one, would like to see more discussion here, for
this is a *resources* list, and I consider all of us as to be resources.
Sometimes just bouncing an idea off someone else is valuable, and those
'lurkers' who have been afraid to contribute here should not hesitate to
get in the fray for fear of making slips or omissions. We all make
mistakes, correct them, then pick ourselves up and go on to make better
ones (Garrison Keillor).
Yours wasn't a mistake actually, just a result of brevity, so this last line
wasn't meant personally.
On a philosophical note: Progress in physics *depends* on mistakes. We
make bold conjectures, then rigorously test them, sweep the wrong ones
under the rug and forget we ever made them. If physicists never made
mistakes, all progress would cease. Think about it.
